Allocations
Results Matter ...
Raising money is only a part of what the Fond du Lac Area United Way does. As stewards of donated dollars, a team of dedicated volunteers works diligently to ensure that money is allocated where it is most needed and where it will have the greatest impact. Hours and hours of volunteer time are spent on this process.
No longer are United Way dollars being allocated for general agency budgets, but rather for specific programs of the agency partners. Agencies must submit funding request forms and separate budgets related to each program for which they seek funding. Each program must also identify the projected impact or "outcome" that this program will untimately have on those who participate in the program. Measuring outcomes will be an important tool in helping allocations volunteers as they determine the importance of investing donated dollars in various programs. This process will also serve agencies in evaluating the effectiveness of their services. Allocations are determined on an annual basis. United Way's Impact Areas are: 1.) Improving the Lives of Children and Youth; 2.) Strengthening Families; 3.) Providing a Safety Net for Basic Needs and People in Crisis; 4.) Mobilizing Community Resources & Fostering Collaboration; 5.) Enriching the lives of Seniors & Persons with Disabilities and Other Challenges.
