Juneteenth

June 19, 2022

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration marking the end of slavery in the United States. It was originally celebrated June 19, 1865. And last year, our federal government passed The Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, finally recognizing it as an official holiday! The Fond du Lac Area United Way joins the nation in recognizing the historical importance of this day by making it a holiday for staff. Because June 19 falls on a Sunday, we will observe the holiday on Monday, June 20 – our offices will be closed in observance.
